Dr. Abel currently serves as the Associate Dean for Students, Community and Professional Initiatives and Associate Professor of Periodontics and Endodontics at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He serves as the Oral Health Director of the Northeast Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center. Dr. Abel currently serves as a consultant to HRSA and is a member of the New York State Dental Standards of Care Committee. Dr. Abel has been involved with research associated with oral health and HIV for over twenty years. Specific areas of research and publications are associated with dentists’ attitudes on managing HIV+ patients and chairside medical screening in the dental setting. He has collaborated on a number of training efforts associated with the management of patients with infectious diseases, substance use and victims of domestic violence. Dr. Abel has served as the principal investigator on multiple Federal grants.
Dr. Andrea González Carbonell obtained the degree of pediatric dentist and orthodontist from the University of Puerto Rico between 2012 and 2017, where she is currently an assistant professor. She is a member of the Society of Pediatric Dentists, Society of Orthodontic Specialists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and the American Association of Orthodontists among others. Among her courses and seminars are those related to special orthodontic care for patients with craniofacial anomalies, ethical dilemmas in dentistry, Laser in dentistry and dental implants in HIV patients. Her vast knowledge in the area of dentistry, especially in orthodontics, will help us to take a look at the orthodontist's mind.
Program Director of TMD and Orofacial Pain Certificate Program and an Associate Professor in the Department Central de Venezuela and the University at Buffalo, and her graduate degrees from the University at Buffalo. In 1993, she established a TMD clinic to care for disadvantaged populations within the predoctoral curriculum, which has evolved to form the clinical platform for TMD and Orofacial Pain graduate program. She maintained a private practice as a general dentist in Venezuela and is now dedicated to the research and education of orofacial pain in Buffalo. Dr. Gonzalez has lectured extensively in the US and abroad and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters in her field of expertise. As co-investigator and principal investigator, she has been involved in NIH-sponsored landmark projects in the field of TMD and Orofacial Pain that include the Validation Study, DC-TMD, OPPERA and TMJ Biomechanics. Obtained her doctorate degree in dental medicine from the University of Puerto Rico, a master's degrees in pediatric dentistry and public health from the universities of Michigan and Harvard respectively. She was the director of Pediatric Dentistry at Harvard School for 9 years, and belongs to the faculty of pediatric dentistry at Harvard University for the past 21 years. She is part of the Harvard University admissions committee for bachelor’s, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral students. In addition to her academic efforts, Dr. Morell has 2 private pediatric dentistry and orthodontics offices in Andover and Lawrence in Massachusetts. Professionally, Dr. Morell was president of the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) of the United States in 2013, is an active member of the College of Dental Surgeons of Puerto Rico since 1993, and also belongs to the executive board of directors of the Foundations of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Hispanic Dental Association Foundation (HDAF). Dr. Morell is a trustee of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) and she is a delegate of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) and the ADA. Lil Caperila has spent close to 40 years in the profession of dental hygiene as a periodontal co-therapist, educator, international lecturer and manager of continuing education. She completed her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene education from Thomas Jefferson University and later achieved her master’s degree in education specifically as an instructional designer and corporate trainer from Penn State University. In 2000, while serving as President of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association, Lil accepted a position as Manager of Professional Education and Corporate Trainer with Premier Dental Products Company in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Her role as an international lecturer has afforded her the opportunity to deliver well over 500 seminars throughout the United States and among her international colleagues. In January of 2016, Lil was a contributing author for the chapter on Dentinal Hypersensitivity in a new dental hygiene textbook entitled: “Dental Hygiene: Applications to Clinical Practice.”
Dr. Abdennour received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1989 from the Washington University School of Dental Medicine. Following his dental degree, he attended a postgraduate general practice residency at a U.S.C. affiliated hospital in California. In 2000 he received his specialty certificate in endodontics, as well as a Master in Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Abdennour currently holds a faculty appointment as a clinical instructor at the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he teaches on a part-time basis micro-surgical and non-surgical endodontics. During his specialty program he also trained in surgical endodontics at the Karl Franz University Hospital in Austria. Upon graduation from Harvard, he was the class recipient of the Krakow Award for Clinical Proficiency in Endodontics. In addition, Dr. Abdennour has conducted endodontic research at the Forsyth Dental Institute in Boston contributing in the patent of a therapeutic endodontic agent. He has also lectured nationally and internationally at dental meetings, conventions, dental schools and endodontic programs demonstrating live endodontic surgery. Dr. Abdennour has been the President and Chairman of two component Dental Societies in New England. From 2016 to 2018 Dr. Abdennour was the President of the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists and currently continues to serve the board as Immediate Past-President. As a member of Real World Endo's Board of Advisors, Dr. Abdennour is certified to conduct lectures and seminars on Precision-Based Endodontics.
Dr. Yadav is a graduate of Manipal University, India and completed the rigorous 2-year Advanced Clinical Training Program at UCLA under Dr. Stevenson in 2018. He is an expert in dental photography and is the chief faculty of the waxing courses held at Stevenson Dental Solutions(SDS), CA. He has been teaching courses alongside Dr. Stevenson for two years at UOP Dental School, and at the SDS Learning Center. He was voted as the best tutor by students last year and has a calm and down to earth teaching style. His clinical interests include advanced prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry and cast and direct gold restorations. He has been invited to lecture in India, presented table clinics at the Academy of Operative Dentistry meeting in Chicago and continues to teach at SDS on the weekends and evenings. He currently practices as a general practitioner in Porterville, CA.
Dr. Rosana Hanke Herrero is a graduate of Dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico class 1998. In 1998-99 she was a GPR resident at the UPR-RCM. Later in 1999 he began as a resident of the Pediatric Dentistry Program finishing his specialty. In addition, Dr. Hanke has a master's degree in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hanke is "Board Certified" by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Since 2001 she is a professor at the UPR School of Dental Medicine and is currently the director of the Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. In the chair she participates as a mentor of the investigations of the residents. Dr. Hanke has lectured at nationally and internationally recognized congresses such as ALOP, Greater New York, SDPPR and CCDPR.
