(If the presenting author does not register by January 11, 2020, the abstract may be automatically withdrawn from the final program.)

 

PRESENTATION TYPE:

Selected abstracts will be presented poster presentations.
Please bear in mind that your presentation type can be changed after reviewing
process by the Scientific Committee.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Given that the abstracts will be reproduced exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines.

  • The deadline for abstract submission is January 11th (Friday), 2020
  • Abstracts should be originals.
  • In order to submit an abstract, the presenting author has to be registered to the Congress by January 11th (Friday), 2020.
  • Original abstracts only.
  • One presenter can present ONLY ONE paper, but participate as a co-author in more.
  • The presenting author will be notified about the successful submission of the abstract before or January 11, 2020. In case that you have not received such notification please contact us after January 18, 2020.
  • All the submitted abstracts will be reviewed by Scientific Committees, and acceptance notice will be sent to presenting authors by January 18, 2020 via email.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Given that the abstracts will be reproduced exactly in the congress book exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines.

A. FORMAT:

  • Language: consider Spanish your first choice (also English will be accepted)
  • Abstract text word limit: 300 words (names and affiliation details are excluded)
  • Suggested font: Tahoma, size 10 pt
  • Spacing between the title, the author(s) and the abstract text: Single
  • Line spacing of the text: Single
  • Title typed in lowercase except the first letter of the title.
  • Surname(s) of the author(s) typed in lower case preceded by the first name(s) written in full (e.g. Maria Cruz)
  • Co-authors of an abstract must be no more than six (6) in total.
  • The presenting author's name should be in bold.
  • The affiliation details of all authors [department, institution/hospital, city/town, state (if relevant) and country should be typed under the names, with the corresponding indicates, in an order one after the other.
  • The abstract should follow the below standard structure :

B. SUBMISSION:

If you have difficulties submitting your abstract do not hesitate to contact us via
email: educacion@ccdpr.org.

Abstracts submitted via fax or mail will NOT be accepted.

C. REVIEW PROCESS:

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and evaluated interms of their appropriateness and their overall quality. Abstracts will be assessed on their acceptability and eligibility as oral or poster presentations in a constructive and educational way.

POSTER PRESENTATION

DEFINITION:

The scientific poster presentation provides a forum for one-to-one, in-depth discussions of the objectives, methods, results and conclusions of a specific study. Narrative and visual material such as photographs, charts, and diagrams may be used. The presenting author must be present at the specified time to discuss the display with interested participants.

IDENTIFICATION:

Poster display will be numbered. A listing will also be available on site near the poster hall.

SET-UP / ATTENDANCE:

Poster SHOULD be sent to cheryl.paulo@upr.edu before February 1, 2020.

Posters should be upload at 8 am before our poster time on Friday February 7th, 2019. Posters will be located in Exhibit Hall at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. To maximize the opportunity for colleagues to view your research, posters will remain on display until 5 PM. Presenting author must be present at their poster area on February 7th, 2020 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM.

All participants are expected to attend the Welcome Ceremony held on Saturday February 7th, 2019 where the winners will be announced and receive their awards. It is embarrassing for the Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas de Puerto Rico when the recipients of donated awards are not present at the award ceremony.

All posters must be disassembled right after 5 PM.

POSTER DISPLAY:

Your poster presentation will be displayed on a 50’’ LED Monitors. Your presentation must be in PDF format. Layout must be in Landscape Format. Your presentation should be in PDF format using an aspect ratio of 2:1. You can use PowerPoint to set up the layout of your poster. We recommend no more than 3 columns for your poster.

HEADING:

A heading for the top of the poster should be prepared indicating: (1) title, the same as that of the abstract submitted, (2) author(s), and (3) institutional affiliation of the author(s).

CONTENT:

A copy of the abstract should be posted in the upper left corner of the poster.

GRAPHICS:

Graphic material, tables and illustrations should be as simple as possible. Numbers or arrows to indicate the viewing sequence are of great assistance to viewers. The image must be at least 120 pixels.

COMMERCIALISM:

Posters must avoid commercialism, promotion, or advertisement. Posters that are deemed to be commercial, promotional or an advertisement will be taken down.

OTHER:

Electrical outlets will not be available.
